  1. Bonne Maman is quite good. I give it as gifts to customers. Maintal (From Germany) is also good. So is Gia Russa (From Italy) and D'Arbo (From Austria). Maintal is organic just like Bonne Maman. They can all be a bit pricey but those on a budget can get Mrs Bridges (From Scotland) at Trader Joe's. Mrs Bridges is far superior to Smuckers

  2. This "taste test" for me was humerous on so many levels! Why taste Strawberry preserves?! Why was Smuckers #1? Watching Julia eating spoon after spoon and stirring each one, getting ribbed about it! The audience was less sweet. ROTFL!

  3. Bonne Maman is obviously the best. I have no idea how smuckers won this one. Bonne Maman tastes like home made jam and the ingredient list reads like home made jam.

Smuckers is HF berry flavored paste for non discerning palates. Usually ATK is on point…this one makes me wonder if smuckers is greasing palms.

  4. Believe it or not, the BEST strawberry spread (as well as blackberry and raspberry) I've found is GREAT VALUE brand from Wal-Mart! Only a few simple ingredients: Strawberries, Sugar, Pectin and Citric Acid. No high-fructose corn syrup and it tastes great! Not to mention cheap. I think I paid $1.83 for 17.25 oz. jar.

  5. Jam, spread, preserves are all different so to compare is ridiculous. Compare jam to jam, preserves to preserves, spread to spread. And Bonne Mamam is by far the best, certainly over Smuckers which is typical middle class corporate food produced garbage.

  6. 1. St. Dalfour (NO added sugar) but sweet enough (French)
    2. Bonne Maman (added sugar) – too sweet! (French)
    3. Hero (added sugar) (Swiss)
    Smuckers is rubbish.

I prefer raspberry jam (St Dalfour) and also damson jam (Bonne Maman) and absolute treat Four Fruits (St Dalfour). Also Hero blackcurrant jam. All with good quality WHITE bread toast. And of course with a hot cup of good quality tea "a drink with jam and bread" in the famous words of Julie Andrews.

  7. I don’t care for strawberry jellies, jams, etc, but the Bonne Maman Four Fruits Préserves are delicious and are also great in Baked Brie!! Yummy!
Fresh is the only way to eat strawberries, IMO! And Louisiana strawberries are the world’s best👍❣️

  8. Lot of Bonne Maman fans whining their favorite didn't win. I'm not, if for no other reason than I've never heard of it. From the comments I would probably never eat it either. I avoid the super high priced pretentious brands. Double or triple the price for 10% better flavor, not worth it. I like Smuckers, it's always a safe choice. Right now we have Aldi's house brand in the fridge, pretty good and very inexpensive.

  9. My favorite strawberry jam hands down is the frozen strawberry jam made with liquid pectin. The recipe is in the Ball Canning Company blue book. Bright and delicious! I think in any jam, the big difference is using real sugar and not high fructose corn syrup.
