my attention span is usually pretty lacking, but you somehow managed to keep me engaged until the end. The video is well put together and informative. I won't spoil it for anyone, but I was sold on your ultimate pick pretty early on.
Hey guys, looking to get a new griddle mainly for smash burgers and then at times breakfast, is there a difference in burgers, steel vs Iron? Please help navigate!
Amazing video. So well done. Thank you
I can’t thank you too enough for all the work that you put into reviewing all these products I’ve learned so much from you. Thank you very much.
Why only test the four burners? I'm a retiree all my kids are out of the house I'm never going to buy a four-burner and that's the only thing people review. It's ridiculous I'm not making 17 plates at once I'm making two. This is pointless and ridiculous.
Great review, thank you.
I have a 36” Blackstone and 2 things I find that are extreme cons. I have seasoned my griddle numerous times per the instructions and after 3 years I still get a big rust spot on the griddle. Secondly, I absolutely do not like the grease pan in the rear of the griddle. If you do not get the grease pan placed just right, grease will drip everywhere. The grease pan is a cheaply made tray that very flimsy. The griddles with front grease opening and pan draws underneath are much less messy and more convenient. I’m watching to see which one I will get to replace my Blackstone.
Smash burgers are better w 70/75 imo
The Halo is not cold rolled but hot rolled and the halo will convert to natural gas
Thanks for the time and effort put into this video. Much appreciated
36" is great and all but I have yet to find good options for larger. Cooking for my family generally takes two rounds on a 36" and I have yet to find good options for larger unfortunately. Any ideas?
I had a blackstone and returned it because the build quality was so cheap and rusted after a few days of being out and it was like 600 bucks. I bought the loco and i love it. Very good build quality and much better cooking surface.
I’m somewhere between the Traeger, Weber, Camp Chef, and Rec Tec which you didn’t test. Did you reach out to them and they wouldn’t supply a unit for testing? I haven’t found a dealer that has one they can show me.
Well done thanks
Soooooo who got to eat all those fajitas? 😅
Great insight
Love your video.
Somethings I would have liked to have seen if possible is testing high, mid and low setting temperature range.
How accurate was the Loco at holding temp.
Do the burner dividers really do anything.
Do more zone controls actually help? How much
What are the Griddles Thickness and reinforcement design against warpage like. Does this effect heat distribution?
How far is the bottom of the Griddle from the burners. Does this effect heat distribution?
From your bread test the Traeger did the best for evenness. I think the Halo would do better if they Redesigned their burners. Moving the cross parts of the burns in the center are to close together.
Sorry, I'm Nerding out on this stuff.
FYI, I have the Camp Chef FTG600 from 2019. Ashamed to say I haven't used it a lot (Life). The biggest problem I have with it is the grease drain hole is way to small. Was cleaning one time and the hole plugger up. Grease then went over the grease troff. That what keeps ever once in while looking for a different one. Still need to use the Camp Chef a lot more before justifying replacing it.
You missed a couple features on the Halo. One being a really big one for many folks. The Halo has a silicone spatula scraper that drops all the crud right into the grease bucket, but the really big feature is that you can cook with the lid closed. So things like steaming and making pizza are possible.
Great video. To the point and lots of choices. Still trying to decide. thank you so much. Now, to watch it again.
Very honest .
Thanks for the video. Includes some points that I didn’t think of. Great job!
Hello, My wife and I love to grill, and we are ready to buy a Griddle on which I can cook breakfast. also to cook my favorite Philly Steak & Cheese and to toast the Philly Grinder Bun top and bottom, my question is what size is best, and do they make larger than 36"Griddles? we entertain a lot and need a ton of space, next question is what cooks the best and most even heat distribution? which we feel is very important. Thank you from your New friends here in Lima Peru George and Carmen.
