🍎🔥Caramel Apple Ribs | Bear Mountain BBQ Apple Pellets🥩🍁
A little sweet, a little smoky, and totally unforgettable. Bear Mountain ambassador Frank Campanella takes St. Louis ribs to the next level with apple pellets, caramel candies, crisp Granny Smith apples, and roasted peanuts for that perfect fall bite.
Servings: 2-4
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook time: 3 ½ hours
Ingredients:
Bear Mountain BBQ Apple Pellets
1 rack St. Louis spareribs
2 – 3 tbsp BBQ rub
1 granny smith apple – diced
1/3 cup roasted peanuts – chopped
12 – 15 caramel candies
Steps:
Remove the membrane from the ribs and trim any excess fat or bone.
Season ribs generously with your favorite BBQ rub.
Place on the smoker at 275°F using Bear Mountain BBQ apple pellets and smoke for 2 ½ hours.
On foil, add diced apples and caramel candies. Pull ribs off the smoker and place them meat-side down on top of the apples and caramels. Wrap the ribs tightly in the foil and smoke for one more hour until tender.
Unwrap, and slice without cutting through the foil, then flip so that the apples and caramel are on top.
Sprinkle with chopped peanuts and press them in so they stick. Enjoy!
