Argentine Grilled Ribeyes | Argentine Grill Review | Ballistic BBQ

Argentine Grilled Ribeyes, or “Gaucho Steaks,” it doesn’t get any better than this. I thought this was the perfect way of breaking in my new Sunterra Pro Series Argentine Grill and it was! four cowboy cut ribeyes, weighing in at about 2lbs each! Marinated in an Argentine steak marinade, grilled, and topped with a homemade red chimichurri sauce!

1/2 cup olive oil
3 tbs red wine vinegar
8 cloves crushed garlic
1 tsp each, black pepper, ground cumin, salt

2 shallots
1 cup olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar

  1. I'm a US expat that has lived in Argentina for almost 20 years.. There's almost nothing about this that resembles a true Argentine asado. About the only thing that resembles it is the use of wood, although the WRONG wood. There are about a dozen things that Argentines do with an asado that is not repeated here. And the vegetables… oh, please. The choice of meat… way off. The method of cooking, not even close. Seasoning… no resemblance. Sorry, buy you have completely missed the mark. What you did may taste great… but it is NOT, I repeat NOT, an Argentine asado.

  2. Awesome grill and video. You might consider staging the steaks as they go on based on your guests preferences. Well done steaks go on first, medium well go on 3 or 4 minutes later, etc., etc., so that they all finish together (or close). It’s not an exact science but will get you closer to all of your steaks being done at the same time. Keep the videos coming – great job!

  3. I love these grills but I'm not sure about the v-grates. It seems from all the videos I watch, it's not possible to get a complete, uniform crust on the steak. Just looks like stripes where the maillard reaction is occurring.

  4. That grill looked amazing!! Coming from the UK I am always amazed how steaks always seem to be smothered in some kind of rub or marinade. We seem to love our meat, especially steaks as good as those, just with a good bit of salt and pepper and cooked over fire. Get the real taste of the meat!! Still bet they tasted amazing tho!!!
