I don’t think I’ve ever seen that in either my Australian or UK cookbooks. There are just more instructions if some of the ingredients need to be kept back to be added later.
There are people who start cooking WITHOUT reading a recipe through first? I could never lol
I always thought this was deliberately confusing. Just list the soy sauce every time it is needed with the amount at that time. Don't total it up and use "divided" Recipes can be confusing enough, why complicate it?
Never seen that in a UK recipe. They say 'keep some back' for brushing the tops' or something to that effect. Divided makes no sense at all.
I feel like recipes would all be a lot simpler and less variable if they simply just gave the gram measurements… Kitchen scales are amazing
