I saw your video (and had a large fresh broccoli in the fridge). Followed all your instructions for peeling, cutting and roasting and it turned out delicious! We had that for dinner and both my husband and I loved it. Thank you!
It's cheaper per pound, but is the nutrition from the stem good enough to make it worth it? Most of the value in broccoli is in the florettes anyway, and aside from fiber, the stem doesn't contribute nearly as much. So if you average out the nutrition by weight, is it still cheaper than buying the crowns alone?
Could not STAND broccolis stalks at all until I met broccoli slaw. Add a creamy or tamari based sauce with some carrots and cabbage and mix-ins and it’s delicious.
I love broccoli and love the stem too. But interested to hear “how we should handle the stems” from your point of view.
Anyone else think he said "broccoliasaurus?"

Thank you Dan for sharing your wonderful recipes with us. Sending blessings to you.
Nope. Only florets for me!
I agree, the stems are yummy!
Am I the only one to sexualize this?? Sorry, that's just my brain.
My sister asked me to get broccoli for a family meal. She was surprised when I DIDNT throw the stems away.
“Throw them away?! Never, they’re delicious!”
You had me at cheaper
I last did the math on the cost a year ago, but it was way cheaper to just buy the heads then. I'll have to check again.
Stems are so good!
I love the stems!
The real answer is neither
ribeye
What is a good way to fix the stems?
There is zero nutrients to broccoli…
I’ve just always liked raw broccoli.

Always prefer the stems! Peel the hard skin off and they steam tender in no time!
One time I steamed a whole broccoli with salt and pepper and was surprised at how good it was
I’m a stems person. I never did like the crowns
Obsessed with stems. Not a fan of the florets a
T all
Nothing says you believe a thing you say like not elaborating on it whatsoever.
Nice try Satan.
Well I'm 57 I still eat the crown I don't eat the stem of broccoli. And I prefer eating it raw or steamed never cooked
Delicious is subjective. Although I agree but this wouldn't simply change someone's perspective. Gotta throw science in there. More fiber etc
All I can see is his lip….is this man related to Sylvester Stallone
Stems are sweeter & tastier
I didn't think the stem contained much nutrition…fiber mainly?
