I put kosher salt on my board and scrub it with the half of a lemon that I might have used for something else.
That board in the video seems like it really needs some mineral oil! it looks dry and ready to crack.

Sage advice as always! VERY useful tip.
My fancy french chef teacher said this also works: Lemon juice and salt. Sprinkle salt all over the board, drizzle undiluted lemon juice all over, then scrub it all over. Let it sit for a minute. Rinse, wipe and let dry.
No little nasties can live in salt + acid. There will be no unpleasant odors afterwards.
I've done this for decades, always with perfect results. So, give it a try! ;D
