Beef Chillie With White Rice.
Beef Chillie or Chinese beef chilli, often found in Chinese-American or Sichuan cuisine, combines beef with spicy chilli, peppers, and a variety of bold seasonings like soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. it can be mixed with more veg of your choice. Usually, it’s served with white rice, but it can be different from country to country.
Here is the detailed recipe for it.
1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bell pepper, diced (optional)
4 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon chilli sauce
1 tablespoon soya sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
1-2 cups beef broth (or water)
Olive oil for cooking
Instructions:
Cook the beef: Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil and brown the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Cook until fully browned, about 15 to 20 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
Sauté the veggies: Add the chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper (if using) to the pot. Sauté for 3-5 minutes, until the vegetables are softened.
Season the chili: Stir in the chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the beef and veggies with the spices.
Add the liquids: Pour in the chilli sauce, tomato ketchup, soya sauce ,and beef broth (start with 1 cup and add more if you like a thinner chili). Stir everything together, mixing cornflour at the end.
Bring the chili to a simmer, so the flavours will meld together, and the chili will thicken.
Taste and adjust: Taste the chili and adjust seasonings if needed—add more salt, pepper, or chili powder for extra flavor.
