Wow, looking through the comments lots of folks like and/or have molasses. I always have brown sugar. Molasses is just not a part of my family background of cooks/bakers/eaters.
I stopped buying brown sugar after discovering this trick. It gets so hard, and takes up unnecessary space. So much easier to keep a jar of molasses and make it as needed. I mix it in a bowl with a fork, it is pretty easy.
I never buy brown sugar, I don't use it often enough before it fossilizes. This is what I do instead, and I'll often cheat by adding more molasses. Bang, super fragrant dark brown sugar on demand.
“Honey, why didn’t you just buy brown sugar instead of buying molasses to make it?” “We ran out and the internet lady said to just make it if you run out.”

If I don't have brown sugar in my house, it is very likely that I do not have molasses
I love how you pretended to almost eat a gigantic scoop of brown sugar
I use my kitchen aid instead of a food processor!
I wonder if adding a teaspoon of marmite to the mix would add a balancing dash of savory/tangy
❤ this energy! Thanks for the tips!
Lol who has molasses laying around
U r precious!
In the Caribbean, brown sugar is sugar cane.
Lol she totally was about to eat that spoonful! (I would have! I love molasses! 😂)
Who knew!!!!
I mean I know brown sugar has molasses IN it. But never thought of this
Molasses lasts forever! Great hack! Thanks!
I learned about this trick from Adam Ragusea!
I need this today and I do have molasses in my fridge. Love these videos. Presenter is delightful. Would watch a whole channel with her.
I tried this, using the molasses shown, and the resulting brown sugar tastes off. Metallic. Please advise.
Why is she always moving like a Sims character?
dont even f with the food processor, just add sugar and a spoon of molasses to your recipe
a big thumbs up for presentation! … even tho I am waaaay more likely to have brown sugar than molasses 😜
Great tip! Living in switzerland, brown sugar is nowhere to be found 🤷🏼♀️
Oh come on, are there really people that didn't know this? You can also work it in with a spoon.
Love these holiday shorts each day! ❤
Um…I loves her! 😀
I'm more likely to run out of molasses before running out of brown sugar. I'm a molassesaholic!
Yay!! Thanks for giving me even more ideas to try and I do have a bottle of molasses and just ran out of brown sugar! 🎉😂 😋
Thanks but i'll just head out to the grocery
I learned this a while ago and I very rarely buy brown sugar. I use what I make, therefore I never have brown sugar getting hard on me.
Love these videos! A little smile into our day… who doesn't need that?

I'm not a huge fan of lime, and sulfur in my sugar. I only use dark brown, or light brown sugar.

I guess this means you can turn light brown into dark brown by adding one tablespoon molasses to it
Puzzled that ATK think this presenter is a good representation of their brand.

"…ran out of brown sugar…"
What? Does that really happen?
I'll run out of flour before I let myself run out of brown sugar.
I wouldn't want to be around when the manic phase ends.
but how do you make molasses
Huh! What a great idea. A jar of molasses takes up less room than keeping two extra bags of sugar in the cabinet!
I appreciate this because my molasses hangs around for years
Finally i dont have to eat brown sugar from Auto Zone again.
Wow, just blew my mind! I assume that's how it's made anyway. I never really thought about it.
I guess we better keep molasses handy hehe but thanks I didn't know
I do. Or buy brown sugar anymore. I have been doing this for years and do not have bags of brown rocks.
What if you also run out of molasses?
