  1. I stopped buying brown sugar after discovering this trick. It gets so hard, and takes up unnecessary space. So much easier to keep a jar of molasses and make it as needed. I mix it in a bowl with a fork, it is pretty easy.

  2. I never buy brown sugar, I don't use it often enough before it fossilizes. This is what I do instead, and I'll often cheat by adding more molasses. Bang, super fragrant dark brown sugar on demand.
