Easy Homemade Bread – perfect for beginners #baking #bread

This Bread Recipe Is So Special to Me! ❤️

I’m sharing this recipe from the bottom of my heart because it brings back the best childhood memories. In our region, we call this bread lavash, though there are many variations of flatbread with the same name. This version is simple, soft, and full of flavor!

The dough is incredibly easy to make—no special skills required, just a little love. 🥰

  1. Ingredients: (makes 2)
    500g white flour
½ tablespoon salt (I add a bit more)
    ½ tablespoon sugar
Fresh or dry yeast (follow package instructions for quantity)
    About 350g lukewarm water
A generous drizzle of sunflower oil

    Instructions:
1️⃣ In a small bowl, mix the yeast, sugar, and lukewarm water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes or until foamy.
2️⃣ Meanwhile, sift the flour into a large mixing bowl and add the salt.
3️⃣ Pour in the yeast mixture and start kneading. The dough will feel quite sticky at first—don’t worry!
4️⃣ Add a generous drizzle of sunflower oil while kneading. This helps the dough become soft, elastic, and less sticky.
5️⃣ Cover the bowl with a clean towel and place it somewhere warm to rise for about 1 hour (I like to keep it in the oven—turned off, of course! 😉).
6️⃣ Once risen, divide the dough into two equal pieces. Let them rise again.
7️⃣ Shape each piece (directly on parchment paper if you like) using your hands. To make shaping easier, use a bit of flour or oil on your hands.
8️⃣ Bake in a preheated oven at 270°C (520°F) for 13-15 minutes, until golden and crispy.

  2. Other Tips: 🌟

✔️ Use high-quality flour! The aroma and texture are so much better. Since this recipe has just a few ingredients, good flour makes a big difference!

✔️ In the video, I used darker flour (a bit more nutritious), and the result was great as well, more rustic. However, for the most traditional taste, stick to white flour.

✔️ This bread is perfect with butter and cheese, as a side for meat dishes, or for soaking up sauces—so delicious! 🤤
