A 12-inch skillet should last a lifetime and cook almost anything. But does quality construction have to cost top dollar?
We tested 7 traditional skillets (5 were fully clad with layers of aluminum and stainless steel covering the entire pan, while 2 had aluminum-steel disk bottoms) to find the best one:
All-Clad 12-inch Stainless Steel Fry Pan with Lid

Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 12-Inch Omelette Pan
Weil by Spring, The Healthy Kitchen 12-Inch Fry Pan

I love my AllClad skillet…except for the handle. I find the handle just a bit narrow and ‘twisty’ in my hand. I have two cuisinart ‘clad’ skillets which work very well and have way better handles than the AllClad skillet. Always surprises me when ATK complements the handle of the AllClad…
I’m not surprised, you never pick anything but all-clad, biased?
Hai mam praise the lord 🙏🏻 I am India were to bye this product
Would have been nice for her to tell us ALL of the names of the other pans…nothing more than a commercial for all clad…Good pan…HATE the handle.
I recently purchased an Amazon Commercial 3-ply 12" Skillet. It is AWESOME. Great temp control and inexpensive.
LOVE LOVE LOVE my All-Clad pots & pans! The only time I have ever asked for a household item for Christmas & hubby got me a FABULOUS 11 piece set! It's GREAT!
They should really do an updated version. It would be cool to see if all clad still wins
It's now 2021 and the price is $165.00
Why do your tests never review Demeyere or Fissler? Demeyere has the best fully clad frying pan made, and Fissler has an enormously thick disk bottom design that works superbly well on induction. These reviews feel artificial when you do not include the best products in the category.
In Britain, a skillet is an old-fashioned type of cooking pot with legs. Experts think the word comes from the Middle French esculette, "a little dish," from the Latin root scutella, "serving platter." Very funny that Americans use an archaic word that is NOT used anywhere else in the world to describe a FRYING PAN . Too funny……
Everyone, just save up for a while (make your own coffee, don't go to the movies for a bit, don't eat out, no Netflix sub for a year 😅 etc.) and just buy All-clad.
If cast iron pans gets passed down from generation to generation, so will be All-clad pans. Go for high quality and never by another one again! Love our All-clad sets!
$20 cast iron made by anyone is fine
I have used the All-Clad D3 frying pans a few times only to have the stainless still tarnish deep into the steel. It will stick and burn most anything I try to cook. I have used all the precautions you are suppose to use for stainless still from the very beginning. I have sent them in for warranty and it took them over a month and a half to decide there was nothing they could do for me and then sent them back. Don't waste your money, nothing special there. There website says the handles are made in china.
Cast iron. Yeah, I'm old school.
I got my mother's old revere ware pots and pans set with the copper bottoms.
Yeah, they review pans most of us could never afford–just wish for….
10inch was only $81 on Amazon last month but I didn't buy😕
Where's the cast iron?
Is this show sponsored by All-Clad? They always win and runners up are not mentioned.
Are these induction ready?
How about Demeyere 7-ply?
All-Clad makes many models. You only comment on the 3 layer pan. Any comments for Copper

Love your shows!!! Could you please do a review of different carbon steel pans? It seems like they are the new cast iron pan…. I would love to know more about them. Thanks..!!!
I mostly cook with cast iron, but as I branch out I might look into some all clad cookware.
Thank you for all your reviews. Could you guys possibly do a review on “Best Sets” for pots and pans?
All-Clad pans are the best.
We are a large household and we cook almost every day and Indian food is high temp cooking with lot of sautéing and simmering curries to finish off. All-clad was a no brainer for us. Its top quality and we use them a lot. Worthy buy.
Damn All-Clad must pay their bills!
Love this queen
