Farmhouse White Bread Recipe 13″ Pullman Loaf Pan – How to Use a Pullman Pan (Pain de Mie) – USA Pan
Wondering how to use a Pullman pan (Pain de Mie)? In this video, I’ll show you exactly how to make soft, fluffy farmhouse white bread in a 13-inch Pullman loaf pan — perfect for that square, bakery-style (or grocery store!) sandwich loaf. This recipe creates a soft, fluffy loaf with a fine, tender crumb and crust, and a perfectly square shape — just like traditional pain de mie. Perfect for sandwiches, toast, or fresh out of the oven with butter! Watch this pullman loaf pan tutorial to learn exactly how to bake bread using a 13″ pullman loaf pan.
I have also included the recipe to make this loaf in a smaller 9″ pullman loaf pan on my website!

Just made the bread turned out beautiful.
An excellent pan. Just got me one , made beautiful loves, slid right out no grease. Now, how do I care for them? Damp cloth
/ put away till next baking day?
Just made this loaf after ordering your exact pan. Definitely the best sandwich bread I’ve ever made! Thank you!
I saw your video and saw how the bread came out of the pan and said to myself I have to get me one… I saw it on AMAZON.
This is what a cooking show should be–no celebrities fawning over one another and tossing out platitudes and dried flower sprinkles, but a real person making an actual recipe and teaching skills along the way. I've long wondered how one uses this kind of pan. Thank you!
Hi Robyn, I love your recipes! I have made quite a few of them and we have loved every one! I would like to try this recipe using the dough cycle on my bread machine and using a 9X4 in Pullman pan. Do you think it would work if I just cut this recipe in half? Thanks so much for any advice you can give.
Hi Robyn😊💕🤗. Will be trying this soon. Already have the pan. Can I add milk powder to this recipe? Or maybe it doesn’t need it? Thanks for doing this video. GBU! 🙏🥰
Love my Pullman pan
Robyn do you have a recipe for a multi whole grain bread?
Have you tried the dutch oven bread from laura vitale? Just sharing a recipe that was amazing. Love your channel, I have commented before and once again I think your doing great things. I use the cast iron loaf pans because of you and I just recently started using the same salt as you. Oh your the reason I use dough enhancer too lol learned a lot of great tips from you, thanks Robyn!! 😊
I made this bread this evening and it turned out awesome!!!! I also made a double batch of your sourdough discard bread. That one ia becoming a staple in my household 😊
I use your 1 hour sandwich bread in my 13 inch Pullman pan. I love it!😊
Love your channel, but are you concerned about using aluminum Pullman pan? I stopped using any aluminum since info about its link to Alzheimer’s. Just wondering what other folks think ? Thanks for all your tutorials .
I have a USA bread pan but it didn't come with a lid – will this recipe still work with it? Mine is the smaller pan so I would need to make half of this recipe I would think. Thanks so much!!
I have the smaller Pullman pan— the bread comes out absolutely perfect every time!
I have a Pullman pan, so will make this sandwich bread for Easter brunch as well… 😊 thanks and happy Easter from Germany 😊
Hi! Robyn..where do u buy ur bulk bread fl..I can only find it in Costco..but not 25 lb ..thanx for an amazing recipe will b making it today!❤
USA pans are the best. Just about all I use now for baking and cooking because they are basically non-stick! I haven't bought the pull man though so maybe that'll be next!
I love all your recipes. I have the USA pullman pan and will make a loaf with your recipe 😊.
They actually say to grease per recipe but do not suggest cooking spray. I love my pans. That is a beautiful loaf.
😃 This is great! That pan, I’ve never seen anything like it, but I do know they have the long skinny loaves of bread in the stores. Always wondered how they made them. I love it! Yes baking bread IS fun! This looks delicious and intriguing to make in that pretty neat pan! Thank you Robyn! PS: I’m making your cheese bread right now, letting the machine do it as I go about my day. I’ll let you know how it turns out! Very Happy Thursday, and thanks again for this interesting and cool video! 🤗🥰🇺🇸
I love my cast iron melting pot. It is really helpful. Plus, on the fun side, it is so cute! I love the salt that u use, too. Great video, as usual.
❤❤❤❤good afternoon ❤❤❤❤thank you ❤❤❤❤
Oh interesting!! I do have a pan similar to that but without the lid and only a 1.5 lb tbh!! I gave one of my neighbor the farmhouse and Amish bread and they absolutely loved the farmhouse bread!! So thank you Robyn!! 🫶🏼🤍
