RECIPES:
SAUSAGE GRAVY:
Brown the ground pork, whatever amount you want to use.
Sprinkle flour over the browned meat. (I use approximately 1/4 cup for 1.5 lbs. of pork.)
Add milk until desired consistency. Season.
BISCUITS:
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup butter, cold
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup grated cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Cut the butter into the flour using a pastry cutter, fork, or even by hand until the mixture resembles wet sand. Stir in the grated cheese and garlic powder. Slowly add as much milk as needed to form a soft dough. Drop onto cookie sheet. (I use a cookie scoop) Bake for 10-12 minutes.
CHEESEBURGER SOUP:
This is a single batch recipe. For the soup that I canned in the video, I multiplied it times 10.
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup onion, chopped
3/4 cup carrots, shredded
3/4 cup celery, diced
3 cups potatoes, peeled, diced
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
4 tablespoons butter
3 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup flour
salt and pepper
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
Brown beef and set aside. Saute onions, carrots, celery, potatoes, basil, and parsley in butter until tender. Add broth and beef and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and add flour mixed with milk. Heat until just before boiling and add cheese, salt, and pepper. Cook and stir until the cheese is melted. Remove from heat and blend in sour cream before serving.
BEEF CHUNKS AND NOODLES
Cook beef cubes in water for 45 minutes to an hour. (or until cooked through)
For 1 lb. of beef cubes, I used approximately a quart of water.
Once cooked through, add noodles. If the noodles are fine or thin, you can turn your heat off and they will soften in the broth. If you are using thicker noodles, you will need to gently boil them until they are softened.
Season and enjoy!

Thank you so much for this video. Placing my order for some meat today. What brand of pots and pans do you have?
Canned meat has always been part of my mothers pantry and my own. Keeping the skills alive.

I enjoy all your videos Mary and look forward to them on Wednesdays. I checked out the pricing on Fredβs website. Iβm sure their beef is very good but the price is not in our budget. But thanks for sharing.
Do you water bath can the hamburger soup or do you pressure can it? And for how long?
Do you have an address or phone number where you got your handles for your cookware? I have the same kind of cookware & have handles missing. Thanks! The food looked delicious! I find cutting up so many veggies is so satisfying.
Lol, your boys eating the whole roast made me laugh! it takes a lot of calories to keep them going at that age. Thanks for the video I will check out the link!
Oh my gosh as I'm watching you prepare all this delicious food my mouth is watering it's all love so very yummy π I definitely will be taking notes I'm writing down the recipe and storing it in my recipe box . I always enjoy watching your videos thank you so much for sharing
WHAT?!!! You poured grease down the sink drain?! If that's your habit I'm surprised you haven't experienced clogged drains at your property.
Hi, I have been following the events that have been happening in Ohio, I am concerned about how you and your family and loved ones are doing? Sincerely Nina from Finland
The only thing I would have done differently is to just wash the carrots instead of peeling; there are so many good nutrients in the skin! Other than that, I'm trying it all!
So loved this video. Printed off the recipes, talked to Fred and having meat shipped, ordered a grater and can hardly wait till next week when I can enjoy the meals! π₯°
Thank you Mary for sharing these delicious recipes! I always look forward to your videos!
Mary where did you get your grater that you did your carrots with . Thank You Paula Israel
Thank you so much for sharing!
I'm beginning to think that "Healthy" anything is in the mind of whom ever is cooking it. Like beauty is in the eye of the beholder? I find nothing healthful about any of this.
Well, the only thing I do NOT like about these "sponsor" places is there is no prices up front!! One has to sign up or agree to purchase a box of meat prior to getting a price. I want to know the price of what I am looking at prior to agreeing to purchase or signing up.
Love the soup recipe. That will be easy to make. Thanks for sharing!!
Did you pour the burger grease in your sink????
An empty place is always a compliment to the cook π₯°
I respect your life as a meat eater therefore I watched your video even though I am a vegetarian. I am imagining plant-based products in your recipes.
I love the recipes. Is there anyway to add to your recioes that i can just copy and paste
Eating my morning Oatmeal watching this. How can you Salivate while eating oatmeal??? Well, I certainly did. Thank you for the great meal ideas. God Bless, Cathleen
A Healthy Beef is a Beef who is a animal alive.
I love soup, making soup and giving soup to my loved ones. I just bought two heads of escarole, I made 1 soup Italian wedding meets Escarole and beans=2 great Italian soups in one. Rolled up meatballs that I had flash frozen and kept in freezer defrosted them and put them in. The other soup was kinda basic just broth carrots onions garlic and a little bit of the greens and made it with cheese tortellini. My husband said it tasted like wonton soup! Funny it did, even looked like it w the tortellini floating around lol. My MIL loves my soup so much she takes it back with her and had it for breakfast! Lol Iβm always making itβ¦never canned it but I do freeze it in containers for upcoming meals and even for summer dinners π
Yummy!
This all looks so good. I taught my grandson how to make sausage and biscuits when we were camping.
im from the UK england your french toast we call it gypsy bread we make it the same way x
As a South African I found this very interesting. Very different from the way we cook. We also call "hamburger" and "sausage" just "mince". A hamburger to us is is a bun with a "patty" on, like a Big Mac. Sausage is fish or pork gut stuffed with mince.
Mary itβs a blessing to watch you work in the kitchen. Iβm enjoying your use of ASMR-style video techniques. We love you and appreciate you for quality content every week. β€οΈβοΈ
Praying for Ohio!
Hi…Hi…Hi Mary π₯°!
That is such a Cute story about your boys eating the WHOLE ROAST π π π . You know it was DELISH!!!
You threw those Drop Biscuits together – NO sweat, AMMMAAZINGπ. I LuvLuvLuvLuv ALL of your Videos in their Entirety!!! Beginning to End & In-between π(sometimes on rewind when I'm up & about doing chores). You are such a PLEASURE! I'm having my Cafe' w/you this morning & I MUST tell you that you made my day when I saw you in the Kitchen Cooking π₯°. I LuvLuvLuvLuv to Cook! Your Green Cutting Board looks shaped like an Ironing Board, what is the purpose of the holes @/on the pointed end? I'm guessing to use it over a sink? It is interesting, I've never seen anything like it π. TYFS! Have a Magical Day ππππ!
P.S. Have you ever made Spaetzle from Scratch? (they would be a great accompaniment w/your Beef Cubes). It is MUCH FUN & DELICIOUS!!
My Better Half is Insane over them (they're like little baby dumplings). I'm sure there are Tools/Gadgets to make them, but; I use a Metal Colander (just push the Dough through the holes w/a Rubber Spatula over a Pot of Boiling Water). They Cook in NO time π.
Growing boys never leave food!! My Mom used to tell me: " I swear your boys have hollow legs!" Hardly ever any leftovers!!! Food looked so good! TFS.πππYUM!!
