Tried this method, with some modifications, VERY satisfied with the results:
I covered the steaks in olive oil, using salt and pepper as seasoning.
I seared each steak for 30 seconds on each side in a stainless steel skillet (which itself was heated in the broiler for 20 minutes).
I wanted my steaks to come out medium, so I cooked them for 8 minutes on one side, and 7 minutes on the other (I guesstimated they were about 1.25" in thickness).
Once I removed the steaks I spread a pat of butter (Kerrygold's salted, if anyone cares) on them as they rested, covered in foil, for five minutes.
The result was the perfect amount of pink in the middle, and tender, juicy steaks.
Hope this helps someone.
Didn't mention the temperature
Sorry, I don't understand degrees F° as it would be in Degrees C°?? Please
What the hell temperature is "High"
How long do you sear it?
Do you adjust the rack after searing?
Are we broiling it until done?
I have so many questions. I need a bbq
Is a broiler what the English call the grill?
Your video says to preheat the oven and then adjust the oven rack but that doesn’t make sense. To avoid burning yourself, first adjust the oven rack and then preheat the oven!
I tried this method this evening with a 690g ‘cattleman’s cutlet’. It was 5cm thick, and using the chart as a guide, and following the instructions to a tee, it turned out perfect. Absolutely fantastic! Thank you.
He didnt cut it
Am I the only one that missed him not mentioning the temperature to cook at? He just said High….. I have an electric stove… what is that 750? just kiddin but wtf ?
Put my steak in the oven, went to go take a piss came back and my oven was on fire. DO NOT PUT YOUR RACK CLOSE TO HEAT ELEMENT

Is that with a cast iron pan in the oven with bottom burner on and no damn top grill on?
Mine turned out well. Thank you.
Ok don't care what anybody says. Best way to cook steak indoors. Steaks at room temp. Little bit of red whine vinegar.omaha steak seasoning or what ever you like.litte salt. Pre heat oven to 475. In a frying pan half stick butter.coulpe of drops olive oil..get hot put steaks in the pan couple minutes each side. Crisp to your liking. Put steaks in oven 5 minutes. DONE. if you want it cooked more .more minutes in oven to your liking. Let stand 3 to 5 minutes ENJOY with frozen corn and baked potato. Glass of wine. NICE.
NEVER COOK A STEAK IN THE OVEN! WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU! YOU THROW THAT B!TCH ON THE GRILL OR THE FRYING PAN TO A PERFECT RARE TO MEDIUM RARE!
Thank you ❤
whenever i try this the fat melts onto the foil and then bubble and spatters all over the inside of the oven and even caught on fire once. broiling steaks is not safe.
