Many people ask the question about rinsing the meat before cooking. Washing the meat is WRONG. Here’s the correct advice from the USDA:

Question: Should You Rinse Raw Chicken Before Cooking It?
USDA Answer: No — in fact, it’s not a good idea at all. The United States Department of Agriculture advises against the practice of rinsing poultry or meat before cooking it for a number of reasons. The problem is that when you rinse raw chicken, you’re allowing the bacteria (that is present) on the surface of the poultry to spread to everything else that’s nearby — including sink, counter surfaces, kitchen utensils and any other foods that might be within spattering range of the rinsing water. Dish soap and warm water is insufficient defense against these types of bacteria. By introducing the meat to your sink, you risk contaminating every dish, knife, fork, and spoon you put in your sink afterwards. Never do this.

Proper method: Bacteria present on the chicken’s surface is destroyed when you cook the poultry properly and thoroughly. Since the recommendation in this recipe is clearly to cook the chicken properly and thoroughly, this recipe makes the meat completely safe for consumption. Here are the facts: Chicken held at 148°F for three minutes will kill 99.999999% of salmonella. While most conventional recipes say take chicken out at an internal temperature of 160°F, it only takes fourteen seconds to kill 99.999999% of bacteria. Cooking is the only safe way to properly handle any bacteria.

SUMMARY: Never rinse raw meat in your sink, and dispose of all grocery store packaging properly to minimize contamination to other surfaces..

  3. This video has great advice, but I am confused about the best diet plan that I need to work with, only because I have never taken any. Anyone tried the Fenoboci Diet Plan? I've noticed many folks refer to unbelivable things about Fenoboci Diet Plan.

  4. Made this last night!! Boy, this is one of the best tasting meals i've ever had, no lie, kids absolutely loved it!!! I too thought it was too watery and thought I messed it up until I shredded the chicken, it really absorbed it all! We served it with corn and potatoes! I would love to hear others recommendations of different ways they serve it. My kids suggested enchilada filling. Thank you for a great recipie!

  5. I love this recipe. I have cooked it exactly as shown on many occasions. It’s a winner. If you have the time, I would love to know what are your favorite variations or tweaks to this recipe so you avoid making the same exact thing all the time. Thank you in advance.

  6. I just got done making this for tonight, but I’m trying it on low in my Crockpot instead (with adjusted cooking time, of course) because it’s still kinda warm where I live and my oven always makes my house ridiculously hot lol. I used the exact same ingredients, though! (And gasp, I don’t rinse off chicken. Never have. I worked in a restaurant, and that would have had the health inspector’s head rolling if he saw anyone doing that and contaminating the kitchen!)
