I'm sorry but you are already wrong. Breaded onion rings are vastly superior to battered.
I want both.
I use to boil water, take it off the heat and toss the pre sliced onions 🧅 in it for 3 minutes! Than run them under cold water and proceed with batter and fry! If they are left too long in the hot water, they will become too soft to batter!
I love onion rings. Definitely trying this version!
My daughter and I took a road trip from North Carolina to Seattle and tried onion rings along the way. The best were at a mom and pops drive up in Gardner, MT. Big and crispy.
Spanish only , from Florida huge and make the best
Believe it or not Arby’s had really good O rings they stopped selling them
All the comments are saying is how everyone likes their recipe better or some restaurant makes them better which is a little insulting to Dan. I tried Dan's recipe and have to compliment him on helping me make the best onion rings I ever had!! Thank you
I find batters need to be very thin in consistency or they end up thick with an unpleasant gummy layer. This is especially egregious with fried fish because the fish itself has so much water.
Wow the first 15s of this video really see me.
You should do a whole episode on saffron! It's a very mysterious, mythic ingredient to me. I always think of investing in the ingredient, then remember I don't know what I would make with it!
I prefer a lacy coating, probably has egg in the batter, and it’s not solidly coating the onion. Just my preference.
What I liked most about this video is the ‘Presentation’! It has motivated me to try out this recipe tonight! That’s the intent, Right?
Attention! make that with a flip through panko before frying! Your welcome! 🤟
Whats eating Dan? Perfectionism.
Why is the recipe behind a paywall??? 😢
I do enjoy french fries, but I love a good onion ring
I'm a Panko coated guy, to me batter rings are often just too greasy. I like a thick ring of well cooked onion surrounded by crispy panko coating.
Best onion rings are light, flaky, and crispy dusted in seasoned flour without using a beer batter.
What kind of beer works best?
Why does it seem like the bottom right (his left) corner of this dude's mouth is drooping down when he talks?
I like onion petals better, don't have to worry so much about having the best ring shapes.
