Asked if i can cook pinto beans after used for blind pie ?
8 years late but here goes_ so no pennies, no nickles, no quarters and no marbles. sad. So what do I then use? got rice, beans but no bake weights. details like this keep me from baking pies.
Thank you!!!
Thank you. Why do so many others take 20 min to explain this?
I was just trying to figure out how and where to store my pie weights so thank you for the oven bag tip. 👍😊
Very nice Recipe 👌
Awesome! Thank you!!
My granny used old pennies for blind baking years ago, No change there then !
1) no need to prick the crust, 2) double layer of foil, laying well-over crust edges, 3) pie weights in place, 4) @1:25 375F for 25-30 minutes, produces partially baked crust ready for immediate filling & final baking.
I think the foil would protect the pennies from getting into the crust. So there wouldn't be a problem there.
So, no need to poke holes in the dough before baking?
Jesus, don't use pennies, that's horribly unsanitary.
hmm now I want some pie -_-
