This is my version of Filipino style beef mechado, a tomato- based beef stew with red and green bell pepper, carrots and potatoes in rich, thick sauce.

INGREDIENTS :
( Marinate )

– 1 kg beef ( sirloin ), cut into chunk
– 1/4 cup lemon juice or calamansi juice
– 1 large onion, chopped
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
– 4 drops worcestershire sauce ( optional )

– 2 small size red and green bell pepper
– 1 large carrot, sliced
– 2 medium size potatoes, cut into chunk
– 5 gloves garlic, peeled and crushed
– 2 medium size tomatoes, diced
– add 1 to 2 cups of water ( add more as needed )
– cooking oil
– 1/2 cup tomato sauce
