This bread is quick and easy to make and doesn’t require any yeast or machines. Simply mix all the ingredients together in a bowl, transfer to a bread pan, top with more cheese, and bake. Buttermilk gives this cheesy quick bread a subtle tang and keeps it nice and moist.

  1. 👍🏻👍🏻This looks really delicious! It’s definitely going on my list of foods to make. I will have to slightly modify for my families dietary restrictions but I think it will still turn out really nicely. Thank you for sharing it. Your video quality and presentation makes it look easy to make. I appreciate that. I make cooking videos too. I’m so lucky to be able to learn from talented creators like you!! 🥕🥦🥬🍅🍎🧅

  2. Soo, my bread came out of the oven …oh my goodness, is this divine. I think next time, I will add some fresh thyme or rosemary, just to see how it is. This will make a divine grilled cheese. Sooo good and I will be passing this on.

  3. I made it today. It was a hit. Thank you ladies.
I used vinegar and milk – perfect substitute for buttermilk. In case somebody is interested in metric conversion: I used 100g whole grain flour and 240g all purpose flour. 170g cheese to mix with the dough. The bread was delicious with soup.

  4. Hi Martha & Sara. I am making this today. I have no buttermilk, so will make my own. I might add in some rosemary or thyme, but probably going to just follow your version for today. This bread will make delicious BLT'S or sandwiches…great for toast in the morning with a lovely jam.

  8. Martha read my mind — Irish butter with my cheese bread, too. I live in Wisconsin, so I feel obligated to try this very easy recipe. I love Wisconsin cheese, but Wisconsin has a ways to go on butter. You just cannot beat the taste of Irish butter from cows eating all that grass next to clean ocean air.

  9. I remember sitting on my moms lap, after my baby brother died, so would have been 3, and my mom made herself a sandwich with sliced cheese and jelly on top. I thought she was out of her mind. Thanks.
