We grow san marzano tomatoes in our garden , but not quite as good as from italy because of the soil, just like russett potatoes from Idaho grown in lava soil , no state grows russetts like idaho or vidalia onions from southwest region of Georgia where they grow vidalia onions, it is the soil that gives them more flavor
Meat suace club had me dying
What's up with the metal utensils ?
I love my food wishes lol
Oxtails? Pork neck?
Vinny! Don’t put too many onions in the sauce!
What about instead of water ,chicken stock ? Or beef stock ?
The "shaved my knuckles" comment did it for me. Thumbs up!!!
How does he manage to simmer this broth in the stainless steel stock pot without the sauce burning and sticking? When I tried to use my stainless steel stock pot, my sauce started burning immediately ☹️
what brands of san marzanos are legit? (it seems there are imposters out there)
where are the meatballs
🤣🤣🤣 your knuckles look very sexy!
Rigatoni …..siiiii buoni!!!! Ottima scelta!!!!!!!
Rigatoni siiiii
Is it just me or chicken doesn't go with red meats?
Amazing!!!
fuck i’m so hungry
Chef if a sauce is too acidic, do you recommend adding sugar? Is that correct sir?
LOL I am sure your guests will appreciate you shaving your knuckles.
it's look so delicious and mouthwatering.Thank you for sharing
love u simple sumptuous easy to follow recipes. 💯💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
Chicken? Never seen it before for Sunday sauce, interesting 😏 Will have to try it!
Used this technique to clarify some other videos from youtube and pretty much leaned heavily towards this one. Probably the best pasta/meat sauce I've ever made. 2nd time I've made anything from your channel for a weekly dinner and 2nd time it was 10/10
How in the world can this area of the world grow so many tomatoes for the globe?
It's not Sunday gravy for me without meatballs I can live without sausage but not meatballs! 🙂
When someone wants my sauce recipe I give them the outline because it's always the same amount of this tomato and that tomato and onion and garlic and that doesn't change but the rest does and don't forget the good olive oil but not the super good finishing olive oil! This is slow food at its best! My marinara sauce is a different beast altogether! 🙂
Chef, you simply rock! My former Italian from the old country, would use veal and chicken to make her sauce. The colour was a beautiful bright orange, and the flavour was outstanding! Not many people know that they can add chicken to a sauce, so thanks for sharing. Oh and, Browning the meat in advance makes so much sense!
That specific brand of "San Marzano" tomatoes are grown in the USA. Making them just regular tomatoes that lie.
That's pretty darn close to "Grandma Gina's" Sunday meat sauce. The Italians aren't exactly Vegans, are they…
meat butter fly! LOL!
chicken… in red sauce… that is so gross
Woah… Chicken? cos'è questo? manzo, maiale, vitello… niente pollo
After laughing out loud the 7th or 8th time ("the first rule of meat sauce club….") my wife asked, "Are you listening to Norm McDonald again???" She looked wonderfully puzzled when I replied, "No…I'm watching a cooking show."
Cheif John. I'm all Italian I serve my sauce with meat. I cook my onions in cooking oil then add my sausage ribs and beef chunks and let the red out then add tomato paste let that stick to the meat then add tomato sauce and a can of tomato chunks. Please know what you are saying before you mention Italians. Good day.
Yummy 😋
Is anyone else super annoyed by his end of sentence voice climax?
Yes chef, method over recipe i always tell the students that
My hairy knuckles itch
I had a dream. Of gravy .
Not to be a spoilsport, Chef John, but your tomatoes aren't actually San Marzano type. The maker has used that moniker loosely, as a brand name. Look for DOP certification on the can, next time.
If you could do stand-up! Love your videos!
I’ll make this soon and add oregano and basil, subtract parsley.
No basil chef ? 😲😲😲😲
Excellent
This recipe is so close to the recipe from an Italian grandma it’s amazing. The main difference in mine is I put in some lamb and I make my sauce with Contadina tomato paste and sauce. I’ll have to try the San Mariano tomatoes instead.
