Awesome video. After watching the blind taste test, I bought a Traeger Pro 575 and Traeger pellets! 😂
To me, you lose a lot of credibility just by leaving the grill door open when looking and wrapping the meat!!!!
The RESULTS Numbers Make No sense.. NO explanation what all the numbers are vertically.. Is 1 the best or worst? Higher overall number better or worse? Just no way to decipher the results
All lumberjack pellets at the atwoods by me are $8/20lbs. Guess I'll get some haha
If I can't use sticks I use chips. I never use pellets…
In the future, you cannot get responses from your tasters by show of hands, needs to be secret to keep out group think creep on results.

I'm not surprised the traeger pallets won I use them theyre very good. Their grills are also I believe the best. I was gonna try the lumber jacks but after this test with real people this changed my mind.

you have to do the test more than once. Batches differ
if you follow the "fat smoke" logic. i have to wonder if the "additives" in the traeger are what's the factor there? would also possibly contribute to the "service calls" factor as far as residue, maybe…? GREAT VIDEO. as a dedicated stick burner guy, it's nice to see objective videos from like-minded folks on pellets.
I think what would have made a big impact in this test is having a 7th, which is conventional stick burner offset with oak, and see how that ranked among the blind taste testers. It would be interesting if the people who preferred the lesser smoke intensity pellets picked the stick burner as their least favorite.
Did you cleanse your pallets between bites? With the exception of 4, you tasted less smoke the more you ate. Coincidence?
How come I don't see much (hardly any smoke) smoke coming out of these smokers at the 17:00 of video?
I won't use anything else except Bear Mountain pellets from now on in my Traeger. Owned it for years and I've used everything from somewhat expensive pellets, to the cheap stuff. Pit Boss works fine, can't go wrong really with the Traeger brand either, but man I'll tell you the Bear Mountain pellets are like $1 more than the Pit Boss pellets, produce a better flavor and most importantly holds temperature within +/- 10-15 degrees.
I made an 8 lb pulled pork in 6 degree weather with them with excellent results on Christmas day.
Bear mountain is all I use!
I have a Traeger, but my favorite pellets are Weber pellets. I wish they would have been included
They are 100 percent correct on having the environment change their experience. Think about how your house smells. It doesn't really have a specific smell, does it? But you walk into someone else's house and holy shit you smell everything. I really hate that when I spend time grilling and smoking and when I eat it I'm like ….meh…it could be better. Yet everybody else is like, how did you do this, what are your secrets, why doesn't mine taste like this when I make it. Same when you go to a restaurant and you are like how is this place able to make something better than me? But then the people you are with are like no, this sucks compared to yours. When we smell things our bodies get used to it. So those smells tend to disappear in what we eat. It's strange and I thought I was crazy, but I see others experiencing this as well. I would love to see a video on smoking with and without a regulator on and see how much of a difference smell impacts our perception of flavor. This is the perfect channel for this.

I'm always chasing the most smoke flavor. but my wifes family always thinks my fav is over smoked. when I cook it to their pref, I don't taste any smoke, but they love it. I think being in front of the smoke all day really makes a big dif. since its all about cooking for guests, I think I have to calm down on what levels of smoke flavor I'm chasing.

You needed to Add Weber and Kingsford Pellets in the mix. Both of those Pellets have proven to be very consistent and produce really good smoke and flavor.
LOVE THIS! Curious about how each pellet effects the taste of different meats. Is the #1 for this brisket test a good choice for pork or chicken….?
