I made this recipe today, but I've added some lemon zest and orange zest. A touch of fresh squeezed lemon and orange juice to the canned filling along with a 1/4 teaspoon almond extract. It tastes great. Ty for your recipe, I'm saving it.
I have attempted to make this bread/loaf a few times over the years during Christmas but i know from my "russian" aunts they would make it for easter. I did get the recipe from my older sister who said it is their recipe. Anyway everytime i make it , it spreads out and is a mess, never have that tight spinning Poppy seed swirl. I did go to the 8:30 minute mark and i see you are using a high sided pan which i never thought of until today. Was coming here to ask how do you keep it so tight. I think i found the answer, thanks for the video!
I tried this receipt and I loved ❤. My roll was very nice but I'll get better. My family loved it too. Thank so much for making simple and easy for begginers like me.
Cheryl, those are beautiful.are there any variations for filling? You look great, your hair is pretty short. I’m happy to be part of your fan club. You’re very talented
Cheryl, thanks for you lovely comments.i wanted to make your poppyseed roll, and saw your farm and chickens. We live in the suburbs and can raise only 5 or 6 chickens. My husband was born in Italy on the farm in 1933. Those were bad poor times. So he loves to raise chickens and we did last year, but the raccoons, and other animals tried to get in cages, so we lost a couple gave the rest away.
Cheryl, I so enjoyed this video, you should be on TV. Thanks for the tips on making our favorite bread, it reminds me of great meals in our favorite hometown Dinner in Bordentown NJ Town & Country Dinner.
