Scotcheroos are chewy, no-bake bars made with simple pantry items: cereal, chocolate, butterscotch, and peanut butter.
Ingredients:
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup light corn syrup
6 tablespoons unsalted butter
¾ cup chunky peanut butter
4½ cups Special K Original cereal
1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips

Heart disease in a small package
Thanks for sharing! Always wondered what they were called. Elementary school made these. Without the chocolate of course. So GOOD! #YUM ❣️
We called them Chocolate Scotcheroos in our family, in the 60s, and the rice crispies were stuck together with marshmallow fluff. No peanut butter involved.
What can you use instead of corn syrup please?
Thumbnail is soooo unappealing
We call these Oh Henry’s where I’m from
Scotcharoos are the best thing on the planet.
Any suggestions for something besides butterscotch? Please don’t come for me people, I’m just not a fan.
Can it be made without the corn syrup?
The cereal makes them healthy!
Very cool
What if I made these with Reese's Puffs cereal instead? Then there would be extra peanut butter and chocolate.
Thank you for calling them bars.
I make these every Christmas for my family. My Nana made them all the time for us as kids… And yes, she used the original side of the box recipe… We have a very old cut-out from the side of the rice crispies box in her recipe box!
Recipe???
So yummy!!!!
I find that if you plan on storing these in the fridge, do not put them in too thick of a pan, a cookie sheet works better. it's a lot easier to eat cold in a thin Square than a thick one.
No healthy cereals
There’s nothing wrong with the classic Rice Krispie and smooth pb version. Also don’t press down too hard unless you want some really tough bars
These are my favorite holiday treat!!
