  1. Great video Pete, looks absolutely delicious. I see your a man after my own heart, saving the beef dripping from the roast. I had Sunday roast today with a few friends in the village, I roast the rib of beef, Yorkshire puddings and gravy, they cooked the vegetables. Swede is something I've had a problem buying for years here in Spain, when I had the shop I had to import them from the UK for my Cornish Pasties. However they do seem to be more available recently, so Mince & Tatties it is one night this coming week as the nights are getting cooler here. Thanks a lot.

  2. Thats how ma Granny and ma mammy made the mince as do i. We use Bisto powder to thicken.

  3. Looks good for an appetizer but as my old Grand Dad used to say when out visiting of a weekend "Tat was affa fine but when does the real meal begin?" He was a big man and loved his grub, especially at the weekends when he wasn't driving his lorry from Aberdeen to Glasgow Fish market, circa 1930's. Me instead of cornflower and water slurry I add 2 spoonful's of Rough Oatmeal to dry up the Minced beef and Veggies but then that was how I was brought up to appreciate good food.

  4. Hi Pete, just watched this thank you, my mouth is watering! I do hope youโ€™ll have a try of the beef dripping in the mash, it makes such a difference! The mashed neeps and carrots looked so good as well ๐Ÿ˜‹ My dad used to say, once the potatoes look as if theyโ€™re mashed, mash them again. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  5. My Mum had that same Stock pot for at least my entire life and Iโ€™m 50. I canโ€™t remember the name of the brand, she had the whole set but the stockpot lasted the longest. She swore they were the best saucepans ever

  6. Neeps are turnips in Scotland, I believe they are Swedish turnips, called Swedes in th UK'.
Yellow tasty flesh, you'll need a hatchet to get to it
Shepherds pie made with haggis tatters and neeps is a wonder

  7. Pete, this plate looks fantastic The mince alone takes a supreme award! What a Scottish delight for sure. The meal looks perfect for the cold weather we are having and more to come! I appreciate all your lovely recipes; keep up the fire!
