Fire starters work, but they’re not cheap. And if you grill often, that cost adds up fast. Here’s a simple hack we use instead: a paper towel and a little cooking oil. It burns slow, lights your coals fast, and costs next to nothing.

Bought my chimney last year haven’t looked back
I do the same thing, only I use a small squirt of charcoal starter on a wadded-up paper towel instead of cooking oil.🔥
I’ve done this a few times but I like using starters. I haven’t tried newspaper yet because we use those for our blue crab boils lol
Yessir. I use olive oil
Respect 💯
I save my paper towels that I use to coat my cast iron. I just store them in the grill for the next cook.
Fogo = fire in portuguese
You can save even more money by using used cooking oil 👍
Save the good stuff for frying some corn tortillas 😁
I just use the paper from the charcoal bag
Take a hand full of cotton balls, place them in a plastic container with a lid and soak them in rubbing alcohol
