STRAWBERRY PRETZEL SALAD:
“Without further ado, here is my take on this classic American dessert. The base is a buttery and salty pretzel crust with a cream cheese and whipped cream filling, topped with fresh strawberries and strawberry Jell-O. It’s very simple to make, and the homemade whipped cream mixed with the cream cheese makes this dessert taste more like a no-bake cheesecake than anything.” – Nea

this is a fab dessert for a potluck
I've been eating this at holidays with my mom since at least the early 80's. Top shelf!
In Iowa, Oreo Fluff and Snickers Salad are both considered salads. 🙂
It looks delicious 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋🍓🥨🍓🥨🍓🥨🍓🥨🍓🥨🍓🥨🍓🥨🍓🥨🍓🥨🍓🥨🍓🥨🍓🥨🍓🥨🍓. Thank you sharing this recipe, God bless you.
This is an awesome dessert 😋
Welp, I'll be making this.
Hell yeah, I wanted to make this for 4th of July! We'll see what my family thinks of the pretzels.
Memories….my mom made this every 4th of July. Yours looks just like it. She also made Strawberry Cream Cheese Pie which is basically the same recipe with a different crust yet one is a salad and the other is dessert. Go figure.
This dish has sentimental meaning for me, my grandmother from Pennsylvania would make it for every family gathering. I miss her.
This recipe was in an old recipe book of my mom’s. She had never made it (and yes, it’s listed under salads). About 20 years ago, I made it for my in-laws when they came to visit from out of state. My father in law fell in LOVE with it! He would request it every time they came to visit. He died of cancer 6 years ago, and I haven’t been able to bring myself to make it since.😢
She has a rude attitude but she's around new Yorkers so it to be expected. But her rudeness in saying I don't know why it's called the salad because it's not really a salad. The factors is I'm assuming that it's not her actual recipe so who is she to criticize somebody else's recipe.. I'm sure she would not like it if someone criticize her recipe. I know there's a lot of these Food Network once they have here are very very rude and to make the excuse there a New York base kitchen is an excuse entirely. I'm sure there's New Yorkers the do not have that attitude, but I guess there are people in New York that want to feel they have the " being the ass state"
My Michigan MIL makes this for every party. I was shocked (coming from AZ) “This is not dessert?” “No, just a salad.” 😂
I’m from Ohio and it is definitely a staple dessert
Oooh, I'll def try this! Maybe tomorrow for 4th of July.
❤❤❤
