Equipment expert Adam Ried reveals his top pick for inexpensive blenders.
UPDATE: Our winning blender, the Black + Decker Performance FusionBlade Blender has been discontinued. Our new winner is the KitchenAid 5-Speed Diamond Blender, it’s roughly $5 over our $100 price cap for this story, but we think it’s a worth spending a couple more dollars to get a superior blender.

Very entertaining but pretty useless now that the video’s winner is discontinued and so is the KitchenAid 5 speed in the description. It seems like the new winner is the Nutribullet 1200W blender (with 64oz jar) in your latest blender video
My Oyster just died after abt 2 yrs. I've had the Ninja,it works but have been cut trying to clean it(gave it away).I want something simple, that works for cocktails, cooking, and smoothies that is reasonably priced. Gonna ck out this Black & Decker. Thank you.
This models been discontinued! 😢 The search for a good replacement blender continues!
You're going to have to remake this episode. The Kitchen Aid has also been discontinued.
Which came in second? Which came in third?
In the past, I have used the following blenders:
14 oz Hamilton Beach
6 cup Proctor Silex
This year I shopped for a new blender that had a 64oz or larger pitcher for me to use with my 2-quart ice cream recipes. I wish your video had included blender jar size.
I purchased the $80 72 oz Ninja blender that did not do a good job making mayo in your test. Thank goodness, I do not make my own mayo.
Thank you, in the mkt for a blender , dont want to expend $$$, in a budget, lost my job, and my old blender broke 😢
Just got rid of a B&D Fusion blender. The base broke that connects the blades to the jar. Apparently a known problem on model No. BL1820. Not sure this has been fixed or not. No replacements available.
I am a software tester. I have to say that you guys are the best testers for kitchen equipments. You considered all possible factors and scenarios on your testing data. PERFECT!
You guys need to do this one over. You can’t buy you best blender any more – June 25, 2022. I couldn’t find it for sale on line and I couldn’t even find a used one on eBay – so it even though it was the best in your tests – it either didn’t sell well enough to continue production or it did too well and the producer wanted people to spend more money to get the functionality this blender gives. So it says this video is 2 years old? Maybe it was done several years before it was posted – but it’s irrelevant now.
80 buck is tooooo much for me
the "new" winner is now also discontinued. time for a new <$100 blender test?
So you spent all that time testing and you don't have a 2nd runner up or 3rd….or best for smoothies, etc…? Seems a little biased you just picked one? I really only care about 1 smoothies, 2, plastic container, 3. reliability 4 cleanup……care less about noise or making mayo. So that narrow plastic does not get into the food like my old narrow ninja did where the sides of the plastic container were all scratched up and plastic is not good in your body.
What's red and green and goes 100 miles an hour 🐸
I bought a ninja, but it is annoying to clean and you can't add anything while it's running.
just not a thorough review if you don’t show the results of the blending..
She has a sexy vibe. I think its her voice.
I've watched like all of these gear videos and almost every single time the winning appliance is discontinued. It's like ATK is cursed or something
I've never purchased anything from black and decker that lasted over a year. As much as I trust this channel B&D is a piss poor brand.
I am so disappointed with my Oster classic plus with Duralast. Immediately I couldn't even make a fruit smoothie ( no ice) The power is incredible but the blade doesn't seem to move very much. All I add is fresh fruit, almond milk and veggies on low speed. The motor is super powerful, but the blade seems not to move very much. All I can do is use a spatula around and around while waking my neighbors up.
This is 2nd time I've viewed a product you've suggested and the price is well over what you claimed it was.
Yes but its Black and Decker. Make sure you take out an extended warranty
Chinese blenders from BioloMix and related brands are cheap and good, with analogue controls.
Unfortunately, the recommended BLACK+DECKER model now has a lot of negative online feedback about durability. In short, starts out well but develops leaks. 🙁
Can we add the nutribullet combo blender into the mix? $99 and it looks pretty promising
The Farberware blender that I got for $20 at Walmart works just fine! If a new and bigger one was needed, would definitely get a Ninja. Just don't blend all that much except single smoothies.
I did a lot of research a while back, to replace my old Oster. I decided on a couple and bought one. Tried it at home, then returned it…it was too powerful and beaker too wide. I tried a different one and found the same thing. I think the new blenders are made with motors that are just too much. They throw the substance against the sides, or create pockets. Those motors are also super loud. So I decided to keep my old Oster. It actually did better with smoothies & such. I do have to stop & scrape sides a couple of times, but less often than for one of the new ones. I don't need super horsepower in a blender. It's interesting he found the same issue with too powerful a motor, too fast, and the shape of the beaker. I, too, found that my old slimmer beaker is better than the wider ones that many new blenders have.
Why is the “mayonnaise test” the be-all end all? I’ve never made mayonnaise, I don’t plan on making mayonnaise. I just want to be able to make solid/powdered things drinkable…
Here's a list that helped me out.

In the end, I went with #8.
