The Best Inexpensive Blenders (under $100)

Equipment expert Adam Ried reveals his top pick for inexpensive blenders.

UPDATE: Our winning blender, the Black + Decker Performance FusionBlade Blender has been discontinued. Our new winner is the KitchenAid 5-Speed Diamond Blender, it’s roughly $5 over our $100 price cap for this story, but we think it’s a worth spending a couple more dollars to get a superior blender.

  1. Very entertaining but pretty useless now that the video’s winner is discontinued and so is the KitchenAid 5 speed in the description. It seems like the new winner is the Nutribullet 1200W blender (with 64oz jar) in your latest blender video

  2. My Oyster just died after abt 2 yrs. I've had the Ninja,it works but have been cut trying to clean it(gave it away).I want something simple, that works for cocktails, cooking, and smoothies that is reasonably priced. Gonna ck out this Black & Decker. Thank you.

  3. In the past, I have used the following blenders:
    14 oz Hamilton Beach
    6 cup Proctor Silex

This year I shopped for a new blender that had a 64oz or larger pitcher for me to use with my 2-quart ice cream recipes. I wish your video had included blender jar size.

I purchased the $80 72 oz Ninja blender that did not do a good job making mayo in your test. Thank goodness, I do not make my own mayo.

  4. Just got rid of a B&D Fusion blender. The base broke that connects the blades to the jar. Apparently a known problem on model No. BL1820. Not sure this has been fixed or not. No replacements available.

  5. You guys need to do this one over. You can’t buy you best blender any more – June 25, 2022. I couldn’t find it for sale on line and I couldn’t even find a used one on eBay – so it even though it was the best in your tests – it either didn’t sell well enough to continue production or it did too well and the producer wanted people to spend more money to get the functionality this blender gives. So it says this video is 2 years old? Maybe it was done several years before it was posted – but it’s irrelevant now.

  6. So you spent all that time testing and you don't have a 2nd runner up or 3rd….or best for smoothies, etc…? Seems a little biased you just picked one? I really only care about 1 smoothies, 2, plastic container, 3. reliability 4 cleanup……care less about noise or making mayo. So that narrow plastic does not get into the food like my old narrow ninja did where the sides of the plastic container were all scratched up and plastic is not good in your body.

  7. I am so disappointed with my Oster classic plus with Duralast. Immediately I couldn't even make a fruit smoothie ( no ice) The power is incredible but the blade doesn't seem to move very much. All I add is fresh fruit, almond milk and veggies on low speed. The motor is super powerful, but the blade seems not to move very much. All I can do is use a spatula around and around while waking my neighbors up.

  8. I did a lot of research a while back, to replace my old Oster. I decided on a couple and bought one. Tried it at home, then returned it…it was too powerful and beaker too wide. I tried a different one and found the same thing. I think the new blenders are made with motors that are just too much. They throw the substance against the sides, or create pockets. Those motors are also super loud. So I decided to keep my old Oster. It actually did better with smoothies & such. I do have to stop & scrape sides a couple of times, but less often than for one of the new ones. I don't need super horsepower in a blender. It's interesting he found the same issue with too powerful a motor, too fast, and the shape of the beaker. I, too, found that my old slimmer beaker is better than the wider ones that many new blenders have.

  9. Didnt show any blending comparisons…i had a ninja it burned out in less than a year; now i have an Oster 1200 smoothie maker blender; all steel gears no rubber to shred up n burn out; FABULOUS machine makes GREAT smoothies!! $99!!
