how do you reseason them ? fat & starch ?
Warning, sarcastic comment!
Why would I want to remove all those extra flavors from my grill?
Can u come over and help me with my Weber?
I made the same mistake but those grill grates are upside down. You can see the little feet in the corners are pointing up. Its all nice and flat on the other side.
Great tips !!
Onion
I think you want to protect those burners more so dust doesn't clog them. I saw you spraying water on them…
I have a older Weber Genesis grill that has the cast iron grates. A couple times a year I clean the inside of the grill and then place the still dirty cast iron grates on top of the flavorizer bars and turn the grill to high for 45 minutes or so. This will turn any grease on the grates to white dust, similar to self cleaning your oven. Then you just re-season the grates.
Heat your grill. Split an onion in half and rub it on the grill. This will clean it
BBQ daddy does work BUT it wears out just after a few uses.
Do NOT buy. This vid has links to purchase products for kick back. Obviously it encourages you to buy but you will regret it
Use an onion or potato to clean the grill. It will also add flavour to it.
wow great job. Thank you for that great video. The Grill looks amazing
Thanks for this! Any thoughts on using a steam cleaner for cleaning the grill?
You suck! Sorry, what I meant to say was….. You’re so good at this! And thanks for sharing!
Where do you suggest we dump that container of greasy water?
An engineer named Destin (Smarter Every Day on YouTube) made a grill scrubber. Maybe you could try that and let us know which one you prefer?
A lot of times after I'm done grilling I'll just open all the vents and let the grill get as hot as possible and it self-cleans like an oven. Then I just brush away the ash
Didnt realize you can hose down the grill! I was aways nervous about any water exposure causing rust. Is it fair to say as long as you wipe it fully dry it'll be okay?
I just use my normal steamer. And a stainless steel brush is fine, provided you wash it after.
Just love watching your videos Brandon!
Don’t buy the bbq daddy, the metal strands still come loose and are just as dangerous as a traditional bbq metal cleaner!
When soaking in the bin, I tend to use dishwasher pods
With a fair amount of success. I also use cameo and a Brillo pad to clean stainless steel. It helps to cut through grease and tarnishing.
I just let the bbq heat up for 30 minutes or so on full gas. Nothing left inside but ash that is easy to clean. Same idea as self cleaning oven.
I just pressure wash my webber had to replace flavorizors after about 7 years
Absolutely, never use a wire brush. They should be banned. Chain main or something similar.
Is this a Scrub Daddy commercial?
Woww. Perfect🎉
I just bought a Weber after years of settling for cheaper grills that last 2 years. Great video. I will definitely be using these cleaning techniques.
What scrub pad do you recommend to not scratch stainless steel?
Great video!
He said,"Turn it on", I stopped watching. We light grills with fire and cook over coals. The gas goes in the lawnmower the day before the cookout😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is a job I'm really dreading. Thank you for the helpful tips
Use steam for clean
Having sold weber for a few years, the way they recommend cleaning the grill is to – after finish cooking put the lid down for a few mins, let the rest of the excess char up and use their brush to clean with – they found using water while the grills were hot actually cracked the porcelain coating on them, so using water while hot is not recommended.
Rinsing off in the grass. Not sure i want all that soap and grease in my yard. And best question I have is, where do you dump that container of greasy water?
The best way is to put it in the dishwasher after use 👌
Wont the cast iron crack when applying cold water on a heated up grate?
I thing you also need to address the gas tubes, they can get clogged up over time. I use and old toothbrush to clear any clogged slots that can affect the the flames
the engine bay is one of the most ignored places in our cars. if you consider making a video on that I'd be stoked!
You my good sir got my sub great video
How timely. I just cleaned our grill. Thank you for the great tips!
Excellent! 👍👍
NEVER use the metal brushes. They leave metal fragments that break off and can get into food and cause serious injury.
I found that using a wadded up aluminum foil will do the job cheaper then using a scub daddy or anything else
