  1. I’ve been eating butter, garlic, thyme basted steaks for years, but always felt it was too oily/fatty for me. After much experimentation, I personally find grilled steak with grilled/caramelized lemon to be the best way to eat a steak. Good balance of acid and fat.

  2. Thank you!🥰 you just up to my state cooking game. I just started trying to cook my own steaks as a mom and I was already doing the searing and the basting with garlic, onion and thyme and ghee or butter but now I know to cook it in the oven first that’s amazing. You just saved my steaks!

  3. basting does nothing to add flavor, there are youtube videos testing this. if you want to infuse the flavors of your butter, garlic, and thyme into the steak let it rest, cut the steak into strips, and then drizzle all that stuff so that it gets on the inside of the meat. the crust is thick, basting is just putting shit on top of the crust, it’s not getting into the steak
