The Greatest Kitchen Tools We’ve Ever Tested | Gear Heads
We’ve reviewed equipment for over twenty years, and here are our ten kitchen tools that consistently beat every single challenger. Every product featured shares four core traits: function over fashion, simple ease of use and maintenance, long-term durability, and genuine value. We put them through rigorous hands-on testing to prove they can handle heavy-duty, everyday cooking tasks for decades.

It’s $47
I have almost all of these 😂
Great hosts and great content. Lisa is my fav test kitchen host and always super helpful.
Staube
That cookie slid as soon as you touched it lol
Have you tested Staub enamel coccotes as well, I would be curious to know how they hold up.
I need to send this list to “My Santa” ATK has never stirred me wrong in nearly 17 years.
I live Le Creuset and Staub
@8:57 Does anyone know if they make a left-handed version?
I own basically all of these items entirely based on your recommendations. All of them work wonderfully! You guys are the best
such a great video. thanks!
Love the handle design on those pans.(9:15) The only thing I need a thermometer to do is tell me the temp…nothing else.
I have everything but the knife and the coffee machine. I will look into getting the knife but I will pass on the coffee machine. Love all your videos.
My go-to girls for all kitchen advice. Thanks for all your hard work!
Where is your Top Choice of Home Grain Mill ❓❓❓ NutriMill , MockMillUSA , WonderMill, Komo Mill, ……..
After watching you for years…,I have everything you showed. I am so pleased.
The spatula is great if your are right handed :/
I'm interested to see which spatulas you tested, because judging your choice you didn't try the Adaptchula!
I’m honestly surprised a kitchenaid stand mixer isn’t here. I wonder why not.
I’ve subscribed for many years and I have all of your recommended tools except the colander, I can attest the whole lot is durable and easy to use.
What a fun job you have!
I love the Thermapen but the battery cover is hard to remove.
Please suggest a good coffee maker for just one person – a pot that makes only 3 or 4 cups.
My Thermopen One has never worked correctly. The company gave me a run around since I bought it off of their Amazon site. Its takes on average over 3-5 plus seconds. Not 1 second. So Frustrating. Never offered to replace it. That thing is not cheap. I paid for name and not its lore as a fast and correct in one second.
Alright the spatula isn't that great. I bought it.
$65 for a Spatula – pass.
I bought a LeCreuset Dutch oven (at your recommendation) 20 years ago. Apparently I misused it by putting over too high heat. But the company still honored their guarantee and sent me a brand new one for $0. It pays to buy quality if you can!
Whenever I need to make an investment in kitchen gear, I go to ATC first! Also, when I find the recommended items at a thrift store, I get a little giddy!
I really like this episode. I have all of these and have purchased most of my kitchen tools based on your recommendations. I will say the lid handle and pot handle on the sauce pot does get hot enough for me to need a hot pad when on the electric stove.
my oxo good grips fish flipper is so good, gets used for ground beef and everything really
This episode is a keeper. I own 4 of the items discussed and will return to watch this when it’s time to replace my lower end kitchen tools!
A knife store owner recommend the Victorinox knives to me 30 years ago and I've been using those three knives – chef's knife, boning knife, utility knife – ever since. That said, I'm not sure I can afford a $65 spatula or a $150 saucepan. A video of more budget-friendly picks would be most welcome.
I watched just to make sure you had Le Creuset. They live up to the hype. I absolutely love them.
Wustof spatula only for Right Handers…..
The one dissent I have is about that pot handle being uncomfortable. I don't need to hold it all day, no, but I do need to be able to grasp it firmly, and if it's digging into my hand enough to hurt, that is not safe at all. That thing is too narrow and too thin.
I love that you base your recommendations entirely on logic and practicality.
It all makes sense to me.
Thank you, ATK.
The fish spatula is made/angled for right-handed cooks. Note all the videos they provided during that section show right handed users.
You ladies turned me onto the Technivorm Moccamaster ago and I thank you every morning. Sometimes simple really is best.
Thermapen One now on sale for $74 + shipping on their website, vs. $125 on Amazon, probably because the Nano is coming out soon.
Love this decade club roster!
