  1. Bought this on ATK recommendation. Using it for 4 years now. Aggressively MID. Don't love it. Loses its edge SOONER than my other knives. Handle feels cheap. No PLEASURE in using it. Sorry ATK!

  2. Yeah you really don’t need anything crazy as a home cook. You want a good quality steel knife that’s nice and hard and a nice quality wood or bamboo cutting board that are both maintained. I don’t have this exact knife but something similar that I have used almost exclusively for like 15 years. And I have a set of decent quality end grain wood cutting boards I got around the same time. Both I maintain as needed and while they don’t look brand new I think if you were to see them you’d be surprised they’ve been near daily use for so long. None of these were extremely inexpensive but they really weren’t that bad. They just take a bit of upkeep. But even that’s not as much effort as you’d think. Maybe 20 minutes once a month or so.
