This is the traditional version of beef tapa, this is very famous in the philippines where it is in every corner of almost every restaurant. it is usually paired with garlic fried rice and fried egg. The soy sauce provides the savory taste and paired with sugar, gives balance to the taste. Calamansi or the filipino lemon acts as a meat tenderizer as well as adding zing to the flavours.
As i learned this recipe, i was astonished on how easy it is to make and it quickly became my go to meals when i want some tender juicy savory beef.

i like this better than fried tapa cause I prefer it tender.
I tried this, didn’t turn out good
Tried it today, followed exactly the measurement, it's good, but not the taste I was looking for,, its more like bistek to me prolly because of calamansi. I'll try to recreate it again next time and omit calamansi.

I enjoyed some of your recipes as well… super yummy tapa here! but im not sure, have u tried mixing your marinate with apple cider? I think its the apple cider would tenderise your beef more. coz I do this too with olive oil. thanks for showing your own version and I love your fried egg, so perfect! parang sa book hahaha.
