It's a typical dump cake recipe. What's really good is using cherry pie filling and a chocolate cake mix. I also use 8 inch baking cookware to thin out the fruit. Tastes great
To all the folks complaining about not scraping the cans – maybe we just don't see that part. It's not that exciting to watch somebody scrape out a can.

This is the equivalent of taking a gas station brand Twinkie because “it’s too good to resist” and you’re too lazy to take the real thing.

Is there a particular reason you using that particular brand of pie filling? Would Wal Mart own brand be ok instead?
