If you're slow cooking ( low heat when you leave in the morning and using liquid)say pot roast, corned beef or whole chicken hot spots don't really matter
I’m thinking of passing on the slow cooker and replace w an instant pot. Not sure energy wise it’s the better option but like the idea of a pressure cooker but w multi functions

So which smaller brand is best? My 7 qt has hot spots.

What makes a good slow cooker is a locking lid, cause ain’t nobody got time to try and clean 6qts of food out of your car’s trunk.
Kitchen Aid is a HUGE slow cooker. Great for a family, but not for couples or singles … I just got rid of mine …
