do you have to preheat the grill press to make it work?
How do you heat the lid?
wow, i didnt expect it to be ultra expensive at $300. good luck with that. so not worth it. ended up buying a lodge true cast iron with none of these chemical coatings for $20. i got the round version, so i dont have to waste more money on a special lid. my pot lids fit perfectly on it. for weight, i just fill a 3qt small pot with hot water half way, and use that as weight press.
Do you guys test tramontina stuff ?..
Lodge 10.5" Grill Pan ———————-> $21.90
Bruntmor 10" Grill Pan ———————>$29.90
Staub Grill 10" Pan ————————–>$174.95
Backcountry 10" Square Grill Pan —>$ 34.99
All of these have a reversible griddle and grill option as well
Figures that they would make a test that only compares the very most expensive cast iron against cheap aluminum and not any other cast iron
They make a glass lid for the 12" Staub grill pan ?
Cast iron over any other type of cooking
Wish you had shown results from Le Creuset Signature grill Pan
Time for a rematch!! I use the Marquette grill pan with press lid, it’s under 100 and the enameling is just as good or better then a staub/le creuset
This is a great video I am a big fan of grillpans and love to use them when I cook
I guess she’s never seen the Stellar SX45, an alluminium non stick grill pan with ridges like the Himalayas…
Isn't a non-stick grillpan basically an oxymoron? A non-stick coating shouldn't be used for searing in the first place.
Why does it need enamel on the outside
How is the best way to clean the pan?
It might be time for an update here. It takes a bit of gall to recommend a pan that is 10 TIMES the cost of a close runner-up which is never mentioned. Instead you go right to the $200.00 grill pan that can be hard to find and is very expensive. I have used the Staub and a $19.49 Lodge grill pan with both consistently good results. At least find some alternatives that cost less than a car payment.
Cook on a hot rock , try that foo.
I just ordered a cast alumium pan.
Why is this person putting a cast iron pan in the dishwasher though???
Surprised le creuset didn’t make too choice.
can you use a cast iron griddle on a stove
do just put it on top of hub like you do with pots and pans
Lodge grill pan compares to this?
I can't wait for your re-test!!
Really good review! Nice to know about the raised grills and how much better it is via cast iron.
Lisa: You need to update this evaluation. The Staub unit you chose costs $229.00! While the rich elites that are employed by PBS forget that issue, they would better serve the public by picking at least 3 units and 1 value unit. Also, much of the country has electric smooth top stove tops that don't do cast iron well and are not recommended. Answer me Lisa. Do you have guts.
Hello i just bought a japanese steam grill. Is it worth buying.
2020-12-12 😳 Tell me why, why you using metal utensils 😟☹️
What is the point of enamel on the outside
Dishwasher?!? Really!?!
WoW. Only $300.00 – such a deal.
Yea but the smoke detector would go crazy with all that smoke
Cool
Lodge. Save your money. America made. Hundreds of dollars less money.
Perfect if you don't have to pay for it out of your own pocket.
C'mon test kitchen, real world reviews please.
Yeah but which one will produce less disdain from the firefighters who come put out the fires I'm going to start trying to do this on my own? 🔥🔥😒
Nice presentation .

Hello I'm thinking of learning to cook, and I have a question here. The grill pan in the video was on an induction top right?
Man what?? Just buy a lodge grill pan! This is probably the only review I disagree with. Wack.
Staub works OK with meat products, it's horrible with bread.
I've tried every trick I know to get a staub enamaled pan to not stick while making pancakes, I end up with contents that sticks and burns so quickly and badly that I can't flip it. It just stays there as a burned epitaph of food I could have eaten, now wasted.
I don't have that issue with stainless or carbon steel.
Amazon reports that it is out of stock and they don't know if it will ever become available.
I have this Staub pan. It surely is high quality and very well made. Problem is is a bear to clean!……..So I hardly ever use it also because I live is So Calif where I can bbq about 350 days a year. The other thing is that it weighs a ton…it's a beast
Wait…they put the staub in the dishwasher? It didnt dull the color of the enamel? The staun site said it would screw up the color if the coating…
SEEEEEYMORE
It’s only $300 on Amazon 😜
