  1. In Louisiana they make this too but its just called "shredded beef stew." The only differences are that we don't add olives and that we put celery in the trinity with the bell peppers and onions. We serve it with white rice or sometimes red beans and rice

    This is my all-time favorite Hispanic food.
    Living in South Florida for 32 years I've had the pleasure of eating some phenomenal Ropa Vieja. They don't make it here on the west coast so I was trying to find a decent recipe for it. The only one I could find had a lemon sauce & I hate lemon.
