What a pain in the backside those shells are going to be, why would you? Put them on the top at least
Gotta add the shrimp last and your mussels and clams should not be open when you add them either. Shrimp will overcook and become rubber. Try adding some clam juice as well to elevate the dish. And ya gotta add the pasta to the dish not just on the bottom. Best of luck
