In my Blueberry Smoothie Recipe, I’ve used a combination of yoghurt and milk to achieve the creamy texture we all love in smoothies. Yoghurt provides the thickness and creaminess and milk makes it super smooth and velvety. I’ve also omitted ice from this recipe. I find it detracts from the smoothness and makes it more chunky, similar to a frappé. Since we’re not adding ice, please make sure your milk and yoghurt are cold. If not, you can chill the smoothie before consuming.
If you do not consume yoghurt, but wish to achieve the same creaminess, you can add a ripe banana instead. It’s no secret that bananas provide immense richness to smoothies and it’ll have the same effect here. I’ve also omitted ice cream from this Blueberry Smoothie recipe to keep it as healthy and simple as possible.
With this quick and easy Blueberry Smoothie recipe, you’ll be able to enjoy the proven health benefits of this small, yet powerful berry. Did you know that blueberries are rich in fibre, vitamin C, vitamin K and manganese? Since blueberries are mostly water, they are also extremely low in calories. Blueberry Smoothie Ingredients:
Blueberries – 1 cup, fresh or frozen + for garnish
Yoghurt – 1/4 cup
Sugar (or honey) – 1 tsp
Salt – 1/8 tsp, or a pinch
Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder – 1/4 tsp (optional)
8-10 Almonds + for garnish
Cold Milk – 1/2 cup
Mint Leaf – For garnish
